Abstract

The Warren Centre has researched a Professional Performance, Innovation and Risk protocol for Professional Engineers. The PPIR Protocol has been developed which defines an expected standard of professional performance for engineers. The PPIR protocol will impact on all Biomedical Engineering professionals.

The PPIR Protocol is relevant when considering competency assessment and registration of Australian Engineers, including Biomedical Engineers.

John will discuss the protocol, its implementation, and the benefits from application in the workplace. He will discuss its relevance to Biomedical Engineering.

Biography

Mr John Nurse is a chemical engineer with a long involvement in the chemical and oil & gas industries in project management, business development, strategic development and communication. He is currently Director Marketing and Development with Melbourne-based engineering contractor Uhde Shedden. He is deputy leader of the Communications Team for the PPIR project and has also played a leading role in the introduction of the PPIR Protocol into Uhde Shedden.
