Join the Royal Melbourne Hospital, SMBE Victoria, and EA BC Victoria to celebrate 50 years of Biomedical Engineering at the hospital.

Speakers:Ray McDonald, Tony Fenelon, Mike Fowler and other staff.

Background

Former staff, including managers, Ray McDonald, Tony Fenelon and Mike Fowler will present on the pioneering Biomedical Engineering development undertaken at RMH over the last 50 years:

  • The development of an implantable cardiac pacemaker
  • The role of Biomedical Engineers during and after pacemaker implantation RMH_Pacemaker
  • Transmission of pacemaker artefacts over telephone lines
  • Tracking cardiac wall movement
  • … and many more

There will also be a showing of ‘RMH Capers’, a Benny Hill style comedy, shot on 16mm film starring biomedical engineers and RMH staff, with music by Tony Fenelon. Not to be missed!
