Abstract

“Understanding medical equipment, the equipment portfolio and articulating opportunities and risks is crucial for health services, but it is also important from a system view. Rebecca will discuss a current project reviewing medical asset data and how the department is working on guidance to continue to uplift medical equipment data which will help all of us plan for the future.”

Biography

Dr Rebecca Bailey is a biomedical engineer with an advanced skill set in clinical engineering for medical devices and equipment, including procurement and safety. Rebecca is presently Manager, Asset Support, Victorian Department of Health  Previously Chief Biomedical Engineer at Royal Melbourne Hospital, she has enjoyed biomedical engineering and research and development roles at Austin Health, Royal Children’s Hospital, Alfred Health and the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute. A strong advocate of clinical engineering, Rebecca received the Engineers Australia Women in Biomedical Engineering Scholarship in 2014.
