Since graduating from medicine in 1976, Professor Jeffrey Rosenfeld’s career has taken him far and wide. As an internationally recognised neurosurgeon whose main research interest is severe traumatic brain injury, he has held leadership positions at Melbourne’s major hospitals including the Alfred and Children’s, and has visited PNG and Fiji many times for the AusAid funded Pacific Islands Project (PIP) to perform neurosurgery and teach. A defence reservist since 1984, Prof Rosenfeld has been on seven deployments, including Rwanda, Bougainville, East Timor, the Solomon Islands and Iraq. Prof Rosenfeld’s extraordinary experiences have given him a fascinating perspective on leadership.

Using Monash University’s Bionic Eye project, of which he is Principal Investigator, as a reference, Professor Rosenfeld will share his leadership learnings, including observations of working with engineers in multidisciplinary teams.

This is an exciting chance to learn about leadership from one of Australia’s most prominent medical professionals, to find opportunities for applying his ideas in the engineering world, and for engineers to share ideas with the medical community. An evening not to be missed!
